Tabular Type

Students will demonstrate their abilities to develop a visual/typographic system for an information system used in both phone and transportation terminal environments. They will showcase their capacity to effectively communicate complex content through visual and typographic elements, including tabular hierarchies, numerical data, imagery, and symbols. Students will demonstrate proficiency in translating and incorporating these elements across different viewing scales, from digital displays to physical interfaces.

Sketches

In my initial sketches, I wanted to explore ways to efficiently condense the information down as much as possible limiting the number of clicks the user would have to use. Also, I wanted to approach this with a friendly design so it could seem less intimidating for first-time flyers and users who don’t have much technological literacy.

Wireframes

During this stage I was focusing on the hierarchy and how figuring out the best way to organize the data so the user doesn’t get overwhelmed with the data.

Final

Overall I tried relatively to keep it simple and elegant, The color palate I chose was based on the Illinois flag colors keeping the theme to the O’Hare airport.
